GSIS refunds P6.56 billion to members under Balik Ginhawa

GSIS refunds P6.56 billion to members, providing optional financial relief and supporting borrowers' financial plans.

GSIS said it already issued refunds totaling P6.56 billion to more than 453,000 members and pensioners under its Balik Ginhawa Program which returns three months’ worth of loan amortizations to eligible borrowers.

However, since the refund is optional, not all members are covered.

“Ito po kasi, binibigay namin na option sa ating mga borrowers dahil po meron tayong mga member na gusto naman nila direkta lang ang kaltas sa kanilang sweldo ng kanilang loan amortizations. Dahil po baka meron silang sariling financial plan or meron silang pinagpaplanuhan ng isang project,”

GSIS Executive Vice President Atty. Joseph Philip Andres

This refund scheme is part of GSIS’s continuing effort to provide immediate financial relief to borrowers amid rising prices. The refund covers payments made from December 2025 to February 2026.

Instantly po malalaman po nila yung projected amount of refund [via GSIS Touch app]… pag na-approve po sila, in three working days po ay mababalik po sa kanila ang kanilang binayad sa tatlong buwan,” Andres said

Requests for refund is allowed until October 31, 2026 via the GSIS Touch app.
