  1. Why don’t we CPAs go for a campaign here in FB?

  2. Honest thoughts on the Magna Carta Law?

    1. It is simply a reiteration of the regular rights already available to us.
    2. Repeated the right to appeal to the CSC in case the Govt Accountant was terminated unjustly or reassigned without justifiable cause.. all of which are grounds for appealing to the CSC for their intervention and investigation (refer to ORAOHRA and other CSC issuances).
    3. Overtime Pay and Night Shift Differential — blanket provisions that might be beneficial to only a handful, but would bleed additional and unnecessary government funds para dun sa “inefficiency” and “lack of time management” ang dahilan kung bakit sila nag render ng overtime or beyond 6 pm.
    4. Laundry Allowance — Php 300 on those required to wear uniform?
    4. Provisions e and f on the medical compensation and medical injuries na ipapasali pa sa appropriations ng agency… daig pa ang health worker mga ate at kuya?
    5. Honorarium as remitting officer–> Wag nyo akong anuhin kasi dapat wala na kayong hinahawak at nireremit physically.. naka ADA na po yung govt remittances at TRA naman for BIR remittances on most NGAs and instrumentalities. so uhm honorarium for what exactly? this is part of your function na po. pano po si Cashier? Eh Disbursement officer sya, mas malaki kaya yung accountability nya kung tutuusin. Entitled din ba sya sa honorarium.

I am a Government Accountant myself pero upon reading the Magna Carta, all I see is an entitled bill that if passed will create precedent for all other professions in the government aabangan ko na ba ang Magna Carta for Government engineers, Government doctors, Government Social Workers? Above all, we are still in the middle of a PANDEMIC for goodness’ sake, nangangapa pa ang gobyerno natin sa kakulangan ng pondo at halos aligaga na sa pag iisip ng paraan para makabangon tayo sa fiscal crisis natin.. eto pa ba dapat ang priority? From a profession so revered and respected by many, may we feel a sense of responsibility and genuine drive to serve, more than be served. The Philippine Government does not owe us anything, but we owe our jobs to the Philippine Government. Hindi naman nila tayo pinilit pasukin tong professions natin, when we took our oath the phrase “in the exigency of public service” covers all bases. #respectpost #nohatejustpersonalopinion
