P800 per diem is not enough especially if our official travel is outside our province or outside Masbate. For instance, if we are attending seminar in Legazpi City, we look for a cheaper hotel. I chose a room rate of not more than P1500/day. (I want to relax, secure my safety, near in church, accessible for food and transpo).
I chose to eat healthy food and of course assess also the hygiene of the environment because I am a sojourner only, thus my breakfast is less than P200. Usually, our two snacks and lunch are free. So we deduct P80.00 from the P800 as per diem. I ate my dinner at the mall to console myself once in a while since Masbate province has limited malls. I usually spent for dinner less than P200.
See? I spent more than the allowed per diem. It is a sort of sacrifice for me just to serve the government. I opted not to claim nor justified the hotel accomodation to avoid multiplier effect and precedent from among employees we are serving, and to anticipate also their limited budget. (good for me that i can able to sacrifice some, but what if there are series of official travels? i look for a cheaper government office dorm, buy some groceries na lang para sa breakfast and dinner.πwhat about our other fellow government employees?)π’
However, if there is a legislation to increase the travel allowance (talagang dapat na i-amend), maraming salamat po. hopefully, maawa rin sila sa mga public servants.π

No. Ang800 na yan ay para sa food na 240, 400 na hotel accomodation at 160 na incidental expense, ngaun kung sumobra sa 400 at 240 ang tlagang gagastusin mo, maari mo itong i claim ipaliwanag mo lng ng maayus, ulitin ko ha, iniisip lang kasi natin na ang 800 ay savings kaya naliliitan tau dahil nga sa taas ng mga bilihin at gastusin, pero dapat natin tandaan na ang 800 ay pang gastus natin hindi pang savings natin
