An audit opinion should not be viewed as a rating, score or grade, with ranking of lowest to highest.

Government Accountants, Budget Officers, Treasurers and Auditors’ Forum
Tell us an agency or office that said they received or have been awarded with COA’s highest rating. Meron ba? Wala naman ata. It’s just usually the news that says such claim.
What then is the merit of coa opinion? Why are govt offices nd goccs’ required to comply withcoa rules and regulations?
It won’t matter now that they have a newly appointed chairperson.

It’s a concrete example of trying to be an expert of a certain field by our media. They do not understand in full and yet they are as if lecturing the public. Tapos tayo na mga auditors di nga nagsasalita eh pero sila feeling nila field nila ang audit pag nagbabalita.
Pero aminin natin, having an unqualified opinion on your FS is quite amazing and is worthy to be proud of…kaya nga we strive to get that unqualified opinion from COA,
How should it be viewed then, what is the merit of audit opinion?
But we have to agree an unqualifued opinion is so hard to attain especially for 4 straight years. That means all documents are complete all disbursement are above board give me agencies with unqualufied opinions.
Blame the media. They are the ones using the term for headlines.
