Are barangay officials entitled to uniform and clothing allowance?
No. Barangay officials are not entitled to uniform and clothing allowance. Barangay officials are likewise not entitled to representation allowance and transportation allowance (RATA), Personnel Economic Relief Allowance (PERA), and other forms of remuneration other than the honoraria and the cash gift at the rate duly authorized by law. The Local Government Code of 1991 provides that, barangay officials shall be compensated in the form of honorarium at an amount not less than P1,000 per month for the Punong Barangay and P600 each per month for the Sangguniang Barangay members, Barangay Treasurer and Barangay Secretary. Compensation of Barangay Officials – Medical Assistance
Q: hello po! hingi sana ako ng insights from the group, pwede po ba mag claim ng medical assistance yung mga barangay officials on their respective barangay including yung barangay chairman? based on RA 7160 kasi entitled sila sa free hospitalization sa govt hospitals eh although pwede sila mag private pero hanggang 5k lang yung chargeable sa barangay and i think that provision requires proper liquidation. Iniisip po kasi namin na i-augment yung sobrang pondo ng general services at idagdag din sa sweldo nila sa December.
