Are government officials, who are receiving transportation allowance, still entitled to Daily Travel Expenses?
Question:
Good morning gabbies. Pwede maghingi ng idea regarding sa Traveling Allowance ni Head of the Agency?
Thank you po.

If you read the various issuances of COA, DBM, and particularly, the GAA provisions and the interpretation of the SC on the transportation allowance, the official with the TA who is using the vehicle (regardless if assigned or not) does not automatically relieve the person of the said benefit for that basis alone. The same shall only be deducted once the same uses the vehicle within the 50kms radius.
However, for the dte, said pertitent jurisprudences do not negate that the person receiving the TA is not entitled to the dte. As such, travels beyond the 50kms radius entitles the said personnel with dte.

You should really consider giving the DTE, baka kulangin pa nga… IMO lang, allowed yan kahit within 50km, case to case basis. Tingnan nyo yong specific purpose ng TA, pag wala doon yong DTE, then allowed. Example na lang para madali, may meeting with LCE sa LGU 49 km away sa gabi then early in the morning.

Daily travel exoenses (DTE) refers to 900 pesos or 50% for hotel accomodation, 540 pesos or 30% for 3 meals and 360 pesos or 20% for incedental expenses. No amount refers to transportation expenses and therefore he is entitled to the full amount of DTE in the specific place where this amount is allowed. In some places it is 2,200 or 1,500.
