Understanding the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for Government Employees

The exact amount may vary depending on available agency funds, but ₱20,000 is the ceiling.
Who Can Receive the SRI?
The incentive covers a wide range of government personnel:
- Civilian employees in the Executive branch, including those in national government agencies, state universities and colleges (SUCs), and government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), whether regular, contractual, or casual.
- Military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
- Uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Public Safety College, and Bureau of Corrections.
- Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers in government are not entitled to the SRI but are granted gratuity pay, separate but complementary to the SRI.
When Will It Be Received?
Traditionally, the SRI is released in December, just before the year ends. For 2025, since AO No. 40 was signed on December 11, 2025, agencies are expected to process and distribute the incentive not earlier than December 15, 2025, ensuring employees receive it before the holiday season.
